Running

After spending a number of unsuccessful years trying to bag a free place in the London Marathon via the ballot I’ve finally committed to raising some money for my place. Sponsor me.

Each year roles around and the marathon is one of those events I always catch on the telly (if it hasn’t finished already by the time I get out of bed). It’s time I experienced all that it takes to complete one of these events.

Why I’m running for Survival International

As Founder of Make Travel Fair I’ve had a long association with encouraging an intelligent approach to travel; and part of that is learning about indigenous people around the world and understanding why their traditions, wisdom and existence must be respected. Make Travel Fair has helped to share with the world some of the important stories that Survival International have to tell on behalf of tribal people worldwide. It will be a real pleasure to contribute to supporting their work by running the London Marathon.

Follow my training

I’ve begun training, and will spend the next 6 months adding distance to my runs. All my runs are tracked using the Nike+ technology so to track how far I’m running in training follow me on Twitter.

26.2 miles feels like one hell of a long way at the moment.
